John Viet

John Viet is a Protective Services Worker with the San Francisco County Human Services Agency.

He served as an emergency response worker for four years, and now works with young adults in the Supportive Transitions Unit for the past four years.  John has lived in the bay area his whole life.  He grew up in San Jose, attended UC Berkeley for his bachelor’s degree in architecture.

After graduating, he served as a Public Allies AmeriCorps volunteer for two years, interning at Literacy for Environmental Justice and Our Family Coalition in San Francisco.  His life experiences and desire to work with youth led him to the field of social work, so he earned his Master of Social Work at San Francisco State University with an emphasis on child welfare through the Title IV-E Program.

He is honored to support foster youth on the SFFYF board of directors as the treasurer.
